I love their music. The combination of rock and orchestra is genius and I like how they've included other musical influences like eastern music in their songs (very evident on Om). I love the classic seven, Go Now and their albums from the early 80's. Long Distance Voyager is great from start to finish as well as The Present.

One of the things that got me to start buying their albums was the album art. The paintings always made a perfect marriage with their music. Phil Travers always made the most interesting covers with In Search Of The Lost Chord, On The Threshold Of A Dream and Every Good Boy Deserves Favour being my faves. It goes to show that album art is important and adds to the music. Something I feel has been somewhat lost nowadays.

My most fave albums are Days Of Future Passed, In Search Of The Lost Chord, On The Threshold Of A Dream, A Question Of Balance, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour, Long Distance Voyager, The Present and The Other Side Of Life.

Unmistakable voice LG, and great musicians. The thing is they are gonna be playing virtually on my doorstep it would be a shame to miss the show. That's it I've got the box office blues.

The Moody Blues put on one of the best shows that I have seen. They toured South Africa last year and I went to the concert not really expecting anything. Their energy, stage presence and musicianship won me over and I now listen to them with a new ear. Also very humble guys. They have my admiration and respect.

I would say listen to the first seven or eight in order (ignoring The Magnificent Moodies 1965). Some people think On the Threshold of Dream is the next best after Days of Future Passed, but I like In Search of the Lost Chord. Really, you cannot go wrong with any of these. Also, don't forget the Blue Jays album, John Lodge's From Mighty Oaks, Justin Hayward's work on War of the Worlds and the Graeme Edge Band with the Gurvitz brothers. It's all good stuff!

Huge Moodies-head too. Back in the day, I used to jam to their seminal vinyls on a friend's all-powerful stereo system. Recently picked up the lion's share of their catalog, and have discovered them in such greater depth and breadth.

The Moody Blues are my all time favorite band. My favorite tune by them is Tuesday Afternoon. Between Justin's fantastic vocals and the wonderful orchestration of the music on the songs I could just sit back and listen to there music all night.
