They're still going strong! Speaking of the Moody Blues(no news worthy story here just something that happened to me the other day)...I was getting my hair cut & naturally I like to talk so I start saying that my wife & I were just at the R & R Hall of Fame. The girl cutting my hair says something like "Oh your into music?". My wife was getting her hair cut also & I could see her roll her eyes. I just went on about music & when I was done there was an older woman (probably early/mid 60's) sitting there waiting & she asked if I liked the Moody Blues. I told her The Story in Your Eyes was my favorite song by them & that was it...This lady went on for a good 10 minutes about the Moody Blues! She kept going on about their band members & their albums. She seen them 10 times (I only saw them once) & was going on about the years she saw them. My wife was finished with her hair cut & we had to go but I thought it was awesome to hear someone go on with so much excitement about liking a band.

I think my first time was in the very early 90s but I concur.

:heheh: Bet the stylist had no idea what was about to happen after asking you that innocent question Bucky.

Love the Moodies, I have most of their best albums on vinyl again, and all of them in digital format. I don't see them coming anywhere near where I live on the current tour, but they did play here a couple years ago if my memory isn't shot.

I've just seen the strip Moody Blues' thread and I've realized that I know much more less of this band than what I want to know. I have the Days of future passed album (and it's great, and YES, I LOVE Nights in white satin, is the first song I've known of them, since I was a little TheYoungChild; it's a very funny theme to play on guitar, and I like others songs, as Tuesday, for instance), but I have to ask you, apart from that, what's the other album I need to listen? I mean, just tell my one, in your opinion. I've listened something, but I want to concentrate in just one, and then expand my knwledge on them.

So... help me, please :)

On the Threshold of a Dream is a great album but it has less hooks than Days of Future Passed. In Search of the Lost Chord is like a singles album yet very heavy at the same time (heavy as in deep not loud). For our Children's Children's Children is very cool as well. Really anything before Sur Le Mere you can't go wrong with.

I would say listen to the first seven or eight in order (ignoring The Magnificent Moodies 1965). Some people think On the Threshold of Dream is the next best after Days of Future Passed, but I like In Search of the Lost Chord. Really, you cannot go wrong with any of these. Also, don't forget the Blue Jays album, John Lodge's From Mighty Oaks, Justin Hayward's work on War of the Worlds and the Graeme Edge Band with the Gurvitz brothers. It's all good stuff!

Days of Future Passed (1967)
In Search of the Lost Chord (1968)
On the Threshold of a Dream (1969)
To Our Children's Children's Children (1969)
A Question of Balance (1970)
Every Good Boy Deserves Favour (1971)
Seventh Sojourn (1972)
Octave (1978)
