I seem to put myself into a bit of a situation....I have a definitive top nine though the #10 slot has about...6 or 7 contenders right now. I'm gonna have to think on that.

Oh my god. You kill me. This is the most murderous list ever. I mean a few of them are obvious and forever young, but still. . .

In order of how much of my brain has been consumed by which bands:

01. Sparks
02. The Cars
03. Carpenters
04. The Shangri-Las
05. The Beatles
06. ABBA
07. Roxy Music
08. Squeeze
09. The Knack
10. The Turtles

mmk. :D

All of them are bound to get devoured by competition due to my weirdery. But that's the list. ;D

Including myself there are seven voters thus far and from the acts voted for I'm very very intrigued at what the results of this will be. :D

Most of my votes are probably going to be wasted since I'm pretty sure that I'll be the only one voting for at least half of my top ten, but here it goes (I had to think long and hard about the order of #5-9)....

1. Queen

2. Alice Cooper

3. The Darkness

4. Guns N' Roses

5. Gogol Bordello

6. X Japan

7. Meat Loaf

8. The Offspring

9. The White Stripes

and the tricky number ten that could very likely change by the time voting closes...

10. Dream Theater (for now at least...)

Well lets see 1000 bands/artist I'm going to cut it down by requiring the artist to have at least 10 studio albums I like and the top 10 all had bonus points for either great live, b-sides,covers, guests and/or works with other musicians. You can also get negative points for bad albums.

my top 10
1. Gong
2. Beatles
3 Pink Floyd
4. Bob Dylan
5. Tori Amos
6. King Crimson
7 David Bowie
8. Genesis
9 Neil Young
10. Grateful Dead

Besides The Beatles being #1, I have a hard time ranking my Top 10, but here you go, for now...

1. The Beatles

2. The Rolling Stones

3. The Who

4. The Grateful Dead

5. Eric Clapton or Cream

6. Pink Floyd

7. Lynyrd Skynyrd

8. Neil Young

9. Allman Brothers Band

10 ????

10 could be Dylan, Black Sabbath, The Doors, Creedence, Tom Petty and...or...and...or...and...

Edit: I'll be back...

Too many artists and bands fighting for the #10 spot.
