^^ Yeah I have heard that many times too. Unfortunately it seems difficult to find celebrites or musicians that haven't been affected by the Hero Complex.
I have read more than a few bad things about being in a band with Ann Wilson as well..apparently not the nicest person out there, especially in the 80's.

I've also heard some really crappy things about Diana Ross. She has a reputation as quite the dragon lady.

She's one of the Diva's that don't like people making eye contact during PR sessions or interviews. Apparently she finds being in the company of mere mortals an offense to her refined sensibilities...:nw:

Would love to arrive on the scene when any of these spoiled rich folks needed some help..."Sorry Miss Ross, I would love to pull you out of that car before it catches fire, but then I would have to put my soiled hands upon your person and I know you've got strict rules governing that sort of thing, so I wish you the best of luck, and a pleasure meeting you."

Of course I'm joking but really these arrogant bleeps deserve a dose of reality once in a while.

she and Berry Gordy was equally bad. They both screwed over the other Supremes because Berry wanted to make his girlfriend the star. If you've heard Florence Ballard sing, she was actually a superior vocalist, but she wasn't sleeping with the record label head honcho. Plus on many of the so-called "Diana Ross And The Supremes" recordings, Gordy didn't even use Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong's vocals and instead used two hired hands. Not only that, but when Diana went solo and The Supremes had a new singer, at first they were actually more successful than Diana's early solo recordings and Gordy effectively stopped promoting them because he was upset that they were still scoring hits without Diana. The way the other Supremes were treated at the expense of Diana was disgusting and I don't fault Mary Wilson at all for coming out with the tell-all book. I don't blame her and Cindy for turning down Diana's offer for that failed "reunion tour" about ten years ago.

I didn't like the way she insulted the lineup for the 80's incarnation of Heart when suddenly everything 80's became uncool. Like them or not, they helped them have some of the biggest hits of their career and I thought it was wrong to dismiss them in interviews after they'd left.

Vegs and animal right activists are making me sick, sometimes I want to eat meat and chicken right in front of their faces and vomit on them.

I love the Pretenders' music, but Chrissie Hynde is also pretty bad with her vegetarian extremism. I saw a documentary on them a few years back and she went on this "if you like to eat meat, please go **** yourself" kick

For sure. I also was put off by the 'poor me' attitude in many of her interviews..like life is so bad? You sold millions of records, have a ton of fans, can tour whenever you want, play whatever you want, don't need a day job. Life could be alot worse. Reading on Mark Andes website about how he was fired after he wouldn't take her down was bad too..I mean there are a ton of guys that would do the deed even if she had ballooned simply because of who she is...did it really have to come from another band member? Heart is a great band but so screwed up in certain ways.

Yea, I find it hard to pity them for "having to do synth-heavy corporate rock" to sell records in the mid-late 1980's. Considering those songs and albums paid for their houses and probably bought them a lot of other nice things, I can't really feel bad for them.

Grace Slick is the same way with Starship. Starship was total cheese but as much as she hates "We Built This City" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now", she's a liar if she says she didn't enjoy the money those two songs made for her even if they were watered down corporate pop that was the antithesis of what Jefferson Airplane was about.

Peta people are nuts, something I've observed for years. (off topic for a second). A few years ago, on Penn & Teller's Bullshit tv show, they went on a fact finding mission on Peta and the ALF. Fact of the matter was, the head of PETA at the time (or one of the top big-wigs in the organization) is a diabetic. In their interview with this person Penn reminds this person that diabetes medicines were developed by testing on animals and how can she in good faith even take her diabetes medication(s) knowing this to be a fact. She passed it off as being an acceptable thing because her medicine allows her to live and show everyone ELSE the evils of animal testing.

:wtf:

Uh, wuh!?

Hypocrite much?

Anyway, that's similar to rock stars, actors and the like preaching about 'animal cruelty' yet wearing leather coats, shoes/boots, etc. (see, I did have a thin tie-in)

(ok, off the soapbox)

Nolo, why oh why do they make you sick? I'm not an activist in any real sense of the word, but when I see or know of abused animals, I take action and call the appropriate people. I can't stand it - it quite literally want to do to the person "in charge" what he/she has done to the animal. I can't imagine you are against me for how I feel, right? So are you talking about extremists?

Vegans - I have an associate at work who is a vegan. She has a auto-immune blood disorder that can be lethal. It reared it's ugly head when she gave birth to her son 29 years ago. She is a vegan because she has found that this is the most healthy way for her to live and be without an "attack". She doesn't push it on anyone... I don't think you would hate her and want vomit on her, because she eats how she eats for her health?

Most of the extremists out there make me crazy but I just stay away.

[Devils advocate Aaand I'm not much for generalizations... I think you might have been in a bad mood the moment you wrote this!!]

Seems like a waste of good meat, but I understand what you are saying.

How about this, we take that pencil neck douchebag Morrisey, throw his candyass to the ground and force feed him a few double cheeseburgers from an unsavory fast food joint, and while doing this, make him look at image after image of those kids that were murdered ... ask him if it's really the same thing.

sorry, I'm really not typically up for something like that, but every so often, some ****nut comes along that deserves to get clocked, right in the ****ing mouth. Morrisey just won that honor-of-the-year from me.

^^^ I'm usually not a hard ass either, well, maybe I am: I would do the very same with Morrisey. And Off Topic, similar but worse things to male or female rapists and child abusers and ... you get the idea. I'd be making some major incisions - hell, I wouldn't even bother. I'd use a knife. Grrrr to the 10th power

And I LOVE your word ****nut - never heard that but it will now become part of my vocab!!

(do I have even a thin tie-in?? Oh yeah, cause I was quoting you talking about douchebag Morrisey!! :oyea: )
