I would bet money that if truth were ever told on this subject, the biggest reason that he did the show in the first place was as a marketing tool for any future Aerosmith project/album/tour. Getting his name and face out in the limelight again with one of the most popular TV shows/audiences of today.
Just a guess, but yeah, I'm sure that's the biggest reason for ever doing AI.
^^^ I believe that. He didn't seem very interested in the show at all tbh. It's like the lights were on but no one was home. A lot of time the comments he made didn't make much sense, as if he was going over his grocery list in his head during the performances and not paying attention to give proper feedback.
I think he did it to prove a point to the other band members around the time they were threatening to replace him. Released a couple of solo singles "look what I can do without you" type thing.
The album's been pushed back to November now though, it would have been out a lot sooner had he not signed up for this shit in the first place.
