Re: Rainbow

^^^I agree, DKW! I do remember a few years ago there was some talk/rumor of a possible Rainbow reunion, and with the 'Rising' through 'LLRnR' line-up, but it didn't materialize, sadly! I do wonder how Ritchie feels about not being able to make that reunion happen, or if he simply had little or no interest with wanting to do that, perhaps? I don't remember reading much of any comments from Ritchie on the passing of RJD, however I will check the RJD thread asap. :cheers2

Re: Rainbow

I love Rainbow. I've always thought Ritchie's playing is superior in Rainbow to his DP playing, esp live in 1975-1979 period, that was his peak definitely. I like all 4 singers and all periods...

Re: Rainbow

I'm really disappointed that RJD didn't get the chance to do one last tour with Richie like the rumors that were going around indicated they might.

Man for me that would have been a carnival if it had come off for sure.

Re: Rainbow

 To Rainbow. Even after nearly 30 years and over 500 cds later,Rainbow on Stage is STILL my favourite album !. Those opening words from the intro tape and then Richies Kill the King riff as they lead us through a truly great set. The Rainbow '76 30th anniversary tour 3 cds are a worthy addition to any Rock collection. Blackmore and Dio truly complemented each others great talents. Stargazer from Rising still sends shivers down my spine as RJD sings with so much passion and emotion towards the end of a great epic track. Did they better that period ?.........IMHO,no, but perhaps they went on to reflect the musical times and attitude as only Richie can.

:cheers2 Bryter.

Re: Rainbow

I received yesterday Down To Earth Deluxe Expanded Edition and contains two B-Sides and Down To Earth Rough Mixes (I guess), which are remastered. Eyes Of The World is a killer tune off this album.

5 Stargazer ( Album Version )
6 A Light In The Black ( New York Mix )
7 Tarot Woman (Los Angeles Mix)
8 Run With The Wolf (Los Angeles Mix)
9 Starstruck (Los Angeles Mix)
10 Do You Close Your Eyes (Los Angeles Mix)
11 Stargazer (Los Angeles Mix)
12 A Light In The Black (Los Angeles Mix)
CD 2
1 Tarot Woman (Rough Mix)
2 Run With The Wolf (Rough Mix)
3 Starstruck (Rough Mix)
4 Do You Close Your Eyes (Rough Mix)

6 Coming Home ('A Light In The Black' Rough Mix)
7 Stargazer (Pirate Sound Tour Rehearsal)
8 A Light In The Black (Pirate Sound Tour Rehearsal)
9 Man On The Silver Mountain (Pirate Sound Tour Rehearsal)

I don't know if it's worth of buying it once I have that album.

I DLed the rough mix since it is just basically a duplicate of the original and I already have the re-mastered version, original version and the vinyl
