[IMG] were an English rock band formed by former Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore in 1975. In addition to Blackmore, the band originally consisted of former Elf members; lead singer Ronnie James Dio (later to join Black Sabbath), keyboardist Mickey Lee Soule, bassist Craig Gruber, and drummer Gary Driscoll. Over the years Rainbow went through many lineup changes.

Rainbow's debut album, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, was released in 1975 and features the EPIC "Man on the Silver Mountain".

I have All of Rainbow's albums, and like MP said many line-up changes over the years but they still released some great stuff.

Thanks MP I would have gotten around to them this week if you didn't...

Lord, That was my first Rainbow record I bought. I never heard them but knew Blackmore was in the band & heard good things about the band. I bought the album from the bargain bin in the late 70's for $4.99.

Great album & great band.Ihave everything on vinyl but only The Best of on CD. It's hard to pick a favorite album because I really love all eras of them but I really love Straight Between the Eyes especially "Power"
