Re: Rainbow

This is one of my favourite tracks with Ronnie a great song to enjoy a pint of ale to IMO.

Something about that vibe puts me in the mood for a garggle. :cheers2

Re: Rainbow

Does anybody have a list of what high quality concerts were recorded of Rainbow (especially classic era Rainbow) other than the official live releases?

Thanks!

Re: Rainbow

^^There is some great bootleg material floating about . I have some really good stuff but I need to dig them out to give you a list. I will do that soon but it's too late here to be routing through stuff. I'll give you a list here soon.

Re: Rainbow

I just found that Rising album has been expanded. Here's the tracklist:
1 Tarot Woman ( New York Mix )
2 Run With The Wolf ( New York Mix )
3 Starstruck ( New York Mix )
4 Do You Close Your Eyes ( New York Mix )
5 Stargazer ( Album Version )
6 A Light In The Black ( New York Mix )
7 Tarot Woman (Los Angeles Mix)
8 Run With The Wolf (Los Angeles Mix)
9 Starstruck (Los Angeles Mix)
10 Do You Close Your Eyes (Los Angeles Mix)
11 Stargazer (Los Angeles Mix)
12 A Light In The Black (Los Angeles Mix)
CD 2
1 Tarot Woman (Rough Mix)
2 Run With The Wolf (Rough Mix)
3 Starstruck (Rough Mix)
4 Do You Close Your Eyes (Rough Mix)
5 Stargazer (Rough Mix)
6 Coming Home ('A Light In The Black' Rough Mix)
7 Stargazer (Pirate Sound Tour Rehearsal)
8 A Light In The Black (Pirate Sound Tour Rehearsal)
9 Man On The Silver Mountain (Pirate Sound Tour Rehearsal)

I don't know if it's worth of buying it once I have that album.

Does anyone know if the New York Mix is the original mix or if both versions are different to the original release?

Re: Rainbow

I picked up the remastered cd's of the classic early Rainbow albums to give my old vinyl copies a rest and I got to say I'm impressed. It's great to revisit these albums .. absolute top dollar IMO. :grinthumb

Re: Rainbow

I love the first three Rainbow albums , Sox. To me they rank right up there with Black Sabbath Pink Floyd Deep Purple and my other all time favorite 70's bands.

Re: Rainbow

I remember when Rainbow Rising first came out and was over a friend's house and he was like "you got to check this album out". I was really blown away after hearing it and about a month later he decided to record his albums to audio cassette(or was it reel to reel?) and sell them. So I bought Rainbow Rising off of him and have had it ever since. Though I think it's time to upgrade my first 3 Rainbow albums to CD.

I saw The Scorpions open for Rainbow at MSG back in the early 80's though unfortunately it was a Dioless Rainbow. Not that Joe Lynn Turner isn't a good singer though the band wasn't the same without Ronnie.
