Trying Dedicated to Chaos again to see if there is anything remotely redeemable about it. Even American Soldiers worst stuff is still better than this shit. I believe in giving even a bad album a second chance but they have out lived their welcome.

Yeah I heard it through and there is not one song that I ever want to recall. It was all just atrocious crap. I don't see the band putting out anymore good material.

That post deserves to be in your "Riff's Rants" journal Rattlehead.:oyea:

I don't think it's any secret Dedicated...finished Queensryche as a functioning band, look at them now. Sad really when things unravel in such a public and pathetic way, and both sides share the blame even though Tate comes out looking the worst of the lot.

I love the first (S/t)Ep...

The warning is cool, did'nt care much for RFO ...mainly because I hated the drum sound, OM was better but I do see it as pretty overrated. Empire had some cool tracks & promised land actually was'nt bad for what it was..(ie it did'nt really sound like a Queensryche album). After that, I've not heard a thing.

Overall, While I think the first Ep was just incredible. I confess to not being over-awed by anything they've done since.

The EP was great, everything up to Hear In The Now Frontier was pretty good including that album for me.

I first heard Before the Storm and Take Hold of the Flame. Thought they were excellent songs. Then I heard friends talking about Operation:Mindcrime. At first I did not like it at all, it took a while for me to like it. Still don't play it a lot. It's a great album but sometimes a bit chaotic for me. Too much sound, too much of everything. At the other hand the multitude of images they project through their music is amazing.

Apart from the obvious stand out tracks ( title track and Suite Sister Mary) I really like Speak. Tremendous vocals all around.

I was the same way when it came out. I liked The Warning and Rage for Order, but it did take me a while to warm up to Operation: Mindcrime.

My favorites on the album would be:
  • I Don't Believe in Love
  • Eyes of a Stranger
  • Revolution Calling

I am really liking Tribe as well as Q2k. Sure neither are like the first 3 classics, I say 3 because I think Mindcrime 1 as good as it is, is a bit over rated. But these 2 albums are not that bad, I like them actually.

My introduction to the album was when it was showcased on Tommy Vance's Friday Rock Show and from first hearing the handful of songs he played I was blown away. After I bought the album I literally couldn't stop playing it. My favourite track at that time was Eyes of a Stranger, very closely followed by Breaking The Silence, The Needle Lies & The Mission. These days I put Suite Sister Mary up there with the standout tracks, maybe even at the top - for some reason I appreciate it more now than I ever did.
