The default gain on that album is out of whack Riff, one of the "loudness" issues that seem to be very common now. When I play this CD on my system and compare it to other new recordings that are done properly then it definitely falls short on that comparison. This is a common complaint, "Death Magnetic" was also blasted by many audiophiles for being a terrible slipshod production as far as the sound quality goes.
Scream is nowhere near as good as Ozzy's earlier records, even thought they are 30 years older they sound better.
