Ten years after comes immediately to mind.
Great band. But not very PC in this day and age.

Awesome, political song. What's strange is the lyrics seem to point the finger at the leftist, hippie crowd to say what's wrong with the country...the same crowd they'd play to at Woodstock.

Everywhere is freaks and hairies
Dykes and fairies, tell me where is sanity
Tax the rich, feed the poor
'Til there are no rich no more?
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you
Population keeps on breeding
Nation bleeding, still more feeding economy
Life is funny, skies are sunny
Bees make honey, who needs money, Monopoly
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you
World pollution, there's no solution
Institution, electrocution
Just black and white, rich or poor
Them and us, stop the war
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you

Here's an oldie, Baby, It's Cold Outside. Written in 1944 and recorded by lots of crooners and artists like Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Dolly Parton with Rod Stewart, and more recently Lady GaGa.

It's made to be a "call & response" song. In this case "wolf" (male) calls to "mouse" (female). It makes allusions to "putting something in the drink" to make her stay, her saying"no,no,no".

Baby it's cold outside)
This evening has been (Been hoping that you'd dropped in)
So very nice (I'll hold your hands they're just like ice)
My mother will start to worry (Beautiful what's your hurry?)
My father will be pacing the floor (Listen to the fireplace roar)
So really I'd better scurry (Beautiful please don't hurry)
Well maybe just a half a drink more (I'll put some records on while I pour)
The neighbors might think (Baby it's bad out there)
Say what's in this drink? (No cabs to be had out there)
I wish I knew how (Your eyes are like starlight now)
To break this spell (I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell) (Why thank you)
I ought to say no, no, no sir (Mind if move in closer?)
At least I'm gonna say that I tried (What's the sense of hurtin' my pride?)
I really can't stay (Baby don't hold out)
Baby it's cold outside
Ah, you're very pushy you know?
I like to think of it as opportunistic

The allusion to "putting something in the drink" is alcohol...not roofies, if that's what you were alluding to.

Are you sure about that? Drugging women without their knowledge via a drink has been going on for hundreds of years.

The lyrics lead me to believe she is very young by saying her mom & dad will worry.

Back in 1974, Ringo Starr, age 34, had a #1 hit with his remake of the song "Your Sixteen"

You come on like a dream, peaches and cream
Lips like strawberry wine
You're sixteen, you're beautiful
And you're mine. (mine, all mine)

You're all ribbons and curls
Ooh, what a girl
Eyes that sparkle and shine
You're sixteen, you're beautiful and you're mine
(mine, all mine, mine, mine)

[Chorus]
You're my baby, you're my pet
We fell in love on the night we met
You touched my hand, my heart went pop
Ooh, when we kissed, i could not stop

As far as I know, he still performs the song on his concert tours

@Needs More Cowbell

There are quite a few old songs about 16 year old girls. Evidently 16 was the "hot" age........

Cher's Half Breed, makes some folks upset.

My father married a pure Cherokee
My mother's people were ashamed of me
The Indians said I was white by law
The White Man always called me "Indian Squaw"
Half-breed, that's all I ever heard
Half-breed, how I learned to hate the word
Half-breed, she's no good they warned
Both sides were against me since the day I was born
We never settled, went from town to town
When you're not welcome you don't hang around
The other children always laughed at me
"Give her a feather, she's a Cherokee"

Back in 1992 Toad the Wet Sprocket released a single off their album Fear (1991) which was/is VERY controversial. It's about rape. I love the Toadies, but this song crosses the line.....

Graphic lyrics for sure, but I think the song was meant to increase awareness and don't think they were condoning the actions at all.

How about Mungo Jerry and their classic hit "In The Summertime".

When the weather's fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
Have a drink, have a drive
Go out and see what you can find
If her daddy's rich take her out for a meal
If her daddy's poor just do what you feel

Oh boy :hm:

Ray Steven's Ahab the Arab makes too many politically incorrect statements to even count. But then he does that kind of stuff for fun.

I would post the lyrics but it fills a whole page.

You're right but the Toadies took a lot of flack for that song.
