GILLAN: NO NEW DEEP PURPLE MUSIC
Brought To You By VH1’s Dave Basner
It’s been six years since Deep Purple released their last album, Rapture of the Deep, and it seems like it will be a bit longer before the guys put anything else new out – if they ever do again. Here’s what singer Ian Gillan told us when we asked him if the band plans to work on new material.
“No, no, no, no, I don’t think so. We just don’t stop. We’ve got all the music we need. The only reason we ever made albums was to provide songs for the stage set and we’re just overflowing with stuff at the moment. It’s just fantastic. We played in 48 countries last year and it never seems to stop. It just gets bigger and bigger.”
If you want to check out the band live, you’ll have to book a plane ticket overseas. Their only remaining tour dates this year are in Europe. Learn more at DeepPurple.com.
