personally, I'd never call Nickelback "pop". not even close. I'm far from any sort of huge fan of theirs, but they have enough good music that I'd consider myself a fan.

I'm sure I'll check out the new album when it comes out. Thanks for the info.

Nickelback is along the same lines as 3 Doors Down for me in that their stuff all has a sort of similar sound to me and their songs don't really stand out on their own or grab me because I feel like I'm hearing the same song over and over at first listen. :bonk:

I agree with those who hate them. Like Creed and Daughtry, they are just the epitome of safe and bland. "Rock Star" is pretty much the ultimate douchebag anthem.

Rock Star was cool....Come on with Billy Gibbons as the "voice asking the questions"!!! You cant get much cooler than that :)

:wtf: Wow!! It's just weird that Nickleback gets hated so much.. I mean down right dirty nasty hatred for a band that seems to make at least IMO some great songs.

Reminds me of how some feel about Nirvana..

You can say that about a lot of bands not just Nickelback, Creed, and 3 Doors Down. Each band should have a sound that easily identifies them. For instance, I can tell an Aerosmith song after the first few seconds....same goes with AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Foreigner, Journey, and so many more.

Honestly, Nickelback has just as much variation in their songs as any other band. But if you dont like them, that is fine, too. They do have a big enough fan base to keep them going and going (like the energizer bunny) :heheh:

....eh....at the end of the day though, critics don't know about music anymore than the average guy does. I take that back...the average guy probably knows a helluva lot more.

Nah, I'm not rippin' on Nickelback. They've been around since the beginning of my high school days so they deserve some respect. There was one song of theirs I really liked a few years ago.
