New York Dolls get my vote. Their look very outrageous back in the 70's & really influenced a lot bands throughout the 70's & 80's. Before the Ramones Joey even dressed similar to the Dolls when he opened for them with his band Sniper. When Kiss began they even tried copying the Dolls look in the very beginning. This is nothing against the Ramones look but I don't think they had any intention on turning heads with their look. They were just cool with that look

Does this have anything to do with you being the biggest Johnny Thunders fan on the East Coast of America Bucky?

:D

Voted for the Ramones, but if you would have this Dolls picture it would have been different!!

I love both bands but leather jackets and jeans are far too easy no matter how cool it looks.

I'm going with New York Dolls here for effort. :grinthumb

Late to the game vote for the New York Dolls.

I honestly never thought of the Ramones as wearing constumes.

Ramones look like they're trying to be the Standells I think they do credit them as an influence.

Not even close the ny dolls over ramones and that isn't on costume but musically, live performance and originality. When I saw the ramones in the 70's they played 30
minutes and they were the headliner. Next nite I saw the dead play 4 hours.
