But it's true...doesn't matter who sings the gushy song...you still think of who you wish to think of while listening to a song.

Sometimes a female singer like Tori Amos, I can en-vision someone I would like to have said things too...or at times it can be a female perspective that's singing to me...where I can be like...Yeah...she understands me.

:flirt

Exactly! Also a lot of times Tori's lyrics are so cryptic and combine so many ideas you pretty much take what you want from it and only she's the wiser as to what the contents actually about! :grinthumb

I love the first three or four Janis Ian albums.

I'm with you Shadow... At Seventeen even helped shape me some in how I related with people in school.

Like many I don't view music as gender specific.

I'll add some love for Neil Diamond, Jewel and Joni Mitchell

Bumpity bump.

Got caught a couple of days ago absent-mindedly singing along to "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman".

That was hard to explain away, that one. :p

Right now nothing crosses my mind but back in the 80's I guess the only one I can think of were The Bangles. And don't ask me why I think they aren't made for men but they always reminded me of a band women would like.
