I don't listen to radio except when I am in the car and it always lifts my spirits to hear a familiar tune. None are overplayed to my ears.

I agree with you annie. I like to hear the hits but when a station plays the same song twice in 1 hour, then I tend to skip hearing the song a second time :D

Just in answering the poll (for now) and I'm going with 6 because I can't narrow down to only 5:

#1 and it's not even close ... Bohemian Rhapsody ~ Queen

Rocky Mountain Way ~ Joe Walsh
Hotel California ~ Eagles
Takin' Care of Business ~ BTO
Brown Eyed Girl ~ Van Morrison
Born To Be Wild ~ Steppenwolf

Interestingly enough, they just played BTO for the 2nd time that I've heard today, and I've only been listening for a couple of hrs. As for Queen, I'd like to thank Mike Myers and classic rock radio for completely ruining this song for me. I really used to like it, but I can say with conviction, if I never ever heard Bohemian Rhapsody ever again in my life, I'd be just fine with that. Honestly, I think I could say that about all of the other 5 as well, especially the last 2 (being Van Morrison and Steppenwolf)

That is an interesting point you raise.

I would collapse and die from exhaustion trying to name all of the songs that Adam Sandler has helped ruin.

From that list:

- Sweet Home Alabama
- Stairway to Heaven
- Bohemian Rhapsody
- Hotel California
- Layla

Problem comes from rating songs honestly on Internet sites.

At least where I live (Louisville KY), I'd go for

Sweet Home Alabama ~ Lynyrd Skynyrd
American Woman ~ Guess Who
Money ~ Pink Floyd
Back in Black ~ AC/DC
Dream On ~ Aerosmith

others that get played way too much here (Not judging the quality of the songs, I love some of these, just stating)
ZZ Top - Gimme All Your Lovin'/Sharp Dressed Man
Guns N Roses - Paradise City
Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer/You Give Love A Bad Name
AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long
John Mellencamp - Small Town
Tom Petty - Refugee
Heart - Barracuda
Whitesnake - Here I Go Again
Queen - We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions
Boston - Piece Of Mind
Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion
Wings - Maybe I'm Amazed

I've seen Pat Benatar in concert a couple of times in recent years and I'm pretty sure she loathes this song. Granted, it may be the song of hers that most people remember first and possibly the most successful single she ever had, but she doesn't really have a lot of enthusiasm towards it and kind of seems to make it known. Hard to put into words what she does/says. I'll agree with this one though, played WAAAY too much on the radio, considering how many other great (and better) tunes she has.
