OK so here's what I wanna know....

Is ANYONE going to be buying this LULU stuff, for the sake of keeping the collection up to date and complete?

I find it senseless to do that. Why buy albums one knows they will never listen to? lol
Sometimes it is just better not to have an up to date collection.

What would be funny is if I chucked it out the window and it got thrown back for being that shit.

I think they should have went with this as their new cover

Yeah I guess you're right. I say we boycott and send the message that they need to get their s*** together! :heheh:

Lol the album should be St Happy.

Lol I don't think boycotting is needed, they are in the studio recording the new album. Which I seriously don't see being yet another St Anger sequel.

I've still not listened to it. I've heard you can stream the album on the Loutallica website so I'll do that long before I would consider buying that after hearing what people have said about it.

I don't think it's gonna be that good and I consider myself to be one of the most opened minded people out there. I don't dislike Lou Reed as a whole either, but let's just say, I never saw the over praise that he could sometimes get.

I mean his out of key singing and poor timing makes Dylan sound like Pavarotti. :heheh:

Well Lou is kind of like the singer from CAKE in that he's sort of half singing and half talking and to throw Metallica behind that....is just SO bizarre.

Yeah...I'd still like to know who thought this was a good idea. Someone in the camp, or some people in the camp have to be "go along with it" guys.

Well according to Lars they met Lou at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and they were just sort of joking around about making an album together and Lou actually called Metallica up and got the ball rolling. And something like this is one thing I love about Metallica because whether it's a good idea or not they do whatever they want and just don't care what people think. They have earned such a deep level of creative freedom.

I will confess there was a time I used to think of Metallica as sell outs, but after a bit of educating on the matter at hand, bit of a mindset change from doing review videos I have re-thought that, I define bands who sell out as bands who do shit they don't want to, but Metallica wanted to explore. So in saying this I can kinda appreciate their attempts at experimenting more, I still think Load and Reload are meh but have their moments of good, I still think St Anger is an abomination, I think Death Magnetic could have been better then it was but still a solid album. As for selling out, I realised that was just a stupid bandwagon I was following, not something I plan to do ever again.

Really chuffed to hear this Riff :grinthumb That's how I've always viewed the change in Metallica - just growing and wanting to experiment. I'll disagree with anyone who says they gave up on thrash to become more popular. I first became a fan back in '88 so it's not like it didn't come as a big surprise to me to hear their change in sound. I guess I'm unlike a lot of Metallica fans in that I love Load and like Re-Load.

The album could have been better and frankly The Day That Never Comes and Unforgiven III are pretty boring to me but the album I won't say is shit or great, but solid. Anyone who thinks it is worse then St Anger might need to reconsider their standards of music taste.

I was dreading Death Magnetic being as poor as St Anger but the lads didn't disappoint me this time, I love that album. Strange you mention The Day That Never Comes and Unforgiven III as they are my favourites from the album, just shows you how tastes differ :)

Me neither. I'll see if I can stream it and give it a listen. Guess I've been subconsciously delaying hearing it cos odds on I won't enjoy the experience very much - Lou Reed's voice makes me billious...
