A great class. I am especially impressed and pleased that we got Slade and Sweet in the Hall of Fame. And when you see a list of the biggest Cleveland snubs Rush is always front and center, and of course we get them in on their first year of eligibility. :cheers2 Just missing this week were poor Dusty Springfield, Billy Joel, and Nazareth. This week’s election is the election for 2000, which are artists that first debuted in 1974 or before. The new eligible list is not particularly impressive, so give the older eligible list a good look over before placing your vote. As usual this first week is our nomination phase. You can vote for 15 total artists but a limit of 5 can come from the newly eligible list. The list is not all inclusive. If there is someone you want to vote for that is not on the list, feel free as long as they began in 1974 or before and they are not already inducted. Voting will go through Sunday June 3. Enjoy.

As I sometimes include, here is a list of artists that have gotten consistent support, but not quite enough to get nominated. So if you like these artists, now is the time to start supporting them:

Ricky Nelson
Dion
Dusty Springfield
Bob Seger
Velvet Underground
Frank Zappa
Love
MC5
King Crimson
Stooges
Wishbone Ash
Billy Joel
Nazareth
Meat Loaf
Rory Gallagher

And another list, this one is a list of artists that often get one vote, and only one vote. So if you are the one supporting them, it may be time to move on, or to start drumming up some support for others. Get on your soapboxes and tell us why they are deserving!

The Drifters
Bobby "Blue" Bland
Nina Simone
Dave Clark Five
Glen Campbell
John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers
Gram Parsons
Leonard Cohen
Vanilla Fudge
Harry Nilsson
Joni Mitchell
Humble Pie
Warren Zevon
Plastic Ono Band
Ringo Starr
Tangerine Dream
Mahavishnu Orchestra
Gerry Rafferty
