Yeah I remember it happening on a Saturday either in July or August of 1985. It was interesting that MOUNTAIN were also on the same bill as DEEP PURPLE as well. I read that Leslie West of MOUNTAIN said to Mark Clarke his bass player at that time that he should go over to Ritchie and say thanks for the gig in RAINBOW but ultimately it didn't workout for Mark because I believe Mark went into the studio to record with the Blackmore/Dio RAINBOW around 1977 but I read that Blackmore didn't like Mark's 'finger picking' style of playing bass guitar so Blackmore fired him 'on the spot' and Bob Daisley was offered the gig instead.
