Phil Collins ‘Thinking About’ Genesis Reunion, Ending Retirement

2642616.jpg

Four years after back injuries caused him to stop playing the drums, and three years since the release of his last solo album, Phil Collins says he’s considering returning to the stage, possibly even as part of a Genesis reunion. The legendary rock band hasn’t performed together since 2007.

According to German press outlet Bild Am Sonntag (as quoted by the Guardian), Collins reveals that he has “started thinking about doing new stuff… [Maybe playing] some shows again, even with Genesis. Everything is possible. We could tour in Australia and South America. We haven’t been there yet.”

Besides the spinal injuries that caused him to put down his drum sticks, Colllins’ retirement came about partially so he could spend more time with his young children. But it’s those two sons — 12-year-old Nicholas and 8-year-old Matthew — who are reportedly most eager to see their father take the stage again. Whether this is a case of family pride or a desire to have more uninterrupted time with their favorite video games, we’re sure many Collins fans hope the kids’ wishes come true.

Selling England is a great album. Thought about getting more Genesis but was always told to avoid their more poppy era, which are the good albums?

Get FOXTROT for sure for an old album.....and get the poppy stuff, it's all good and valid IMO.

^^I do like Abacab but on the whole early Genesis is by far the most interesting era for the band.

Riff you can't go wrong with everything up to and including Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. After that the band changed, I have no problem with them having success becoming more commercially appealing, but the progressive phase of the band will always be my favorite.
