well, they didn't release an album with new songs since 2011, when they published the self-titled "Evanescence".

Now, Amy Lee and her band are back and they've just published the new single from the upcoming album.
The song is named Wasted On You, and the album's name will be The Bitter Truth.

Any thoughts, people? I was speechless, after having listened to it... I didn't expect such a change... and it took me a day, before starting to like it a bit. I also have to say that now that the video is out, I appreciate the song even more... even if I prefer other kind of stuff by them.
However, I read that they also recorded some tougher songs for this record, so, well, I'm still going to listen to the album as soon as it's released.

I'm so excited for their new album even if they won't be touring... for obvious reasons. I'm glad I got to see them 13 years ago. It got me through a difficult time in my life. Their music has always been therapeutic for me. Amy Lee used to be one of my style icons when I still cared how I looked.

I love Evanescence! I remember when their album "Fallen" came out everyone in school had it, including me. I would love to see them live, maybe someday.

It's funny I just got back from a walk, and I listened to it while walking.

Amy still has one of the greatest voices in metal, or music for that matter. The writing and general direction of "Evanescence" has been completely disappointing since Fallen.

The debut album was my gateway drug to non-mainstream metal in a lot of ways. Lacuna Coil being the main goth metal band I got into after Fallen, not to mention a lot of other types of metal I might not have given a listen if I hadn't gone down that road in the first place. But I heard Fallen a few years before I discovered a lot of what I'm still spinning to this day.

My opinion continues to be that Ben was the best writer this band ever had. We Are The Fallen's only album to date supports this, while Evanescence has put out music that continues to waste Amy's epic talent.

If nothing else, work under the name Amy Lee instead of Evanescence.

This Body Count song is a better use of Amy's voice FFS and maybe closer to vintage Evanescence than what's actually being put out under the name.

well, since we've posted the first two single from the new album (whose release date is still unknown), let me post also the third single.
Amy gets political in "Use My Voice" ... I have to say that this is my favorite so far from the upcoming "The Bitter Truth" album.
