Re: Eagles

One of the best vocalist/drummers in rock music. And I loved his "Building The Perfect Best" solo album as well.

Happy Birthday Don, and thanks for all the fabulous music you and the Eagles have given us over the years.

Re: Eagles

Love, love love the Eagles! Great harmonies, great guitar work epecially from Joe Walsh, one of the all time greats! :grinthumb

My first job was as a cashier at an amusement park gift shop called Rock and Roll Revue. We could play whatever we wanted as long as it was tasteful. I made a bunch of mix tapes, but the Hotel California tape was the one on heavy rotation that summer. :)

My most favorite Eagles songs are:

Try and Love Again (absolutely brilliant guitar solo)
Best of My Love
I Can't Tell You Why (more brilliant guitar work!)
Those Shoes
Pretty Maids All In A Row
One of These Nights
James Dean

The Eagles

On July 31, 1980, During An Eagles concert at Long Beach, California, tempers boiled over between Glen Frey and Don Henley, who spent the entire show describing to each other the beating each planned to administer backstage. "Only three more songs until I kick your ass, pal," Frey told Henley. The group’s next album was mixed by Frey and Henley on opposite coasts after the two decided they couldn't bear to be in the same state, let alone the same studio.

Eagles Live is the first live album by The Eagles, a two LP set released in 1980. The Eagles unofficially disbanded on July 31, 1980 after their concert at Long Beach. However, the band still owed Elektra/Asylum a live record from the tour. Eagles Live was released that November.

I picked videos from "Hell Freezes Over" because the quality is so much better than anything from the "Live" album and the irony of the statement Henley once gave when asked when the band would get back together after their breakup..."When Hell Freezes Over!"

Re: Eagles

:heheh:

Almost as legendary as the feuds between Tyler and Perry...
Two great records did come through the fighting though, The Long Run and Eagles Live.

Bumping this thread to post a song I just really enjoyed listening to. :)
The Long Run.

I love I Can't Tell You Why, a beautiful little melodic piece.
