I also did not give the band serious attention in their early years. My girlfriend at the time really liked them, they were always all over MTV and top 40 radio of course but they just did not interest me. She and I saw them in concert I think in ‘86 or ‘87. Andy Taylor had left to pursue a solo career.
I began to find appreciation for Duran Duran also as the band splintered to projects like Arcadia and The Power Station. Both of those bands are really great. And then their self titled album in ‘93, I thought was really interesting also, and I began go back and collect and listen to their previous albums. I saw them on tour again, in support of that self titled album and today I have most of their albums, Arcadia, Power Station, Andy Taylor’s Thunder album, and a few compilation albums in physical forms and loaded on my iTunes library.
