I think 'The Long Run' is the best album by the Eagles by a long shot.
John Lennon had the worst solo output of all the Beatles.
I think all of the Springsteen and Dylan covers are far superior then the originals (doesn't matter who did them).
For the life of me, I don't know how AC/DC made it in the music business. I've seen garage bands with more to say through their music.
I agree with everything you said there except for the AC/DC bit. While I don't adore them, they are a pretty kick ass straight forward rock and roll band. I don't think they ever wanted to say anything more than "Hey honey you're lookin' fine, let me buy you a drink and we'll have a good time!"
(I wasn't trying to make that rhyme. It just came out that way!!
)
Anyway, I digress: My unpopular music opinions I guess are mostly just extremely popular bands that I just I don't get.
Such as:
The Grateful Dead-- Psychedelic???? sounds like stoned country to me
Bob Dylan-- Terrible voice. I like some of his songs only when they're done by others.
Bruce Springsteen- Terrible voice
KISS- terrible poseur hair band. Is the make up supposed to distract from the fact that they can't write a decent song?
U2- I just don't know what it is about them that makes so many people like them
Yes- I'm a prog head, but their music just annoys me. I think it's Jon Anderson's voice I can't stand, to be honest.
Nirvana-- "I think I'm dumb." You got that right.
