Cheers for that dude, and the blood is always real. Can't call that fake.

Back on track - I think Chris Jericho is a better musician that a wrestler.

Also, I think Iron Maiden's The X Factor was an awesome album.

X Factor is pretty good, much better than the below par Virtual XI.

I think 'The Long Run' is the best album by the Eagles by a long shot.

John Lennon had the worst solo output of all the Beatles.

I think all of the Springsteen and Dylan covers are far superior then the originals (doesn't matter who did them).

For the life of me, I don't know how AC/DC made it in the music business. I've seen garage bands with more to say through their music.

I like the production on Death Magnetic... I've never had any problem with it.

I love the Death Magnetic album, there are times though that I hear what sounds like the set levels in the studio have peaked and there's some distorting happening. Some people say it's just the guitars, but you can tell the difference if you listen hard. Best example is during the instrumental section of The Day That Never Comes.

Charismatic front man, hyped up lead guitarist, tight catchy rhythm guitarist, songs for parties or driving or having sex, reliability of knowing what you're going to get from a new album, awesome live shows, good easily accessible, escapism, rock n roll. What's not to like?

I agree with everything you said there except for the AC/DC bit. While I don't adore them, they are a pretty kick ass straight forward rock and roll band. I don't think they ever wanted to say anything more than "Hey honey you're lookin' fine, let me buy you a drink and we'll have a good time!" :gig

(I wasn't trying to make that rhyme. It just came out that way!! :gig)

Anyway, I digress: My unpopular music opinions I guess are mostly just extremely popular bands that I just I don't get.

Such as:

The Grateful Dead-- Psychedelic???? sounds like stoned country to me

Bob Dylan-- Terrible voice. I like some of his songs only when they're done by others.

Bruce Springsteen- Terrible voice

KISS- terrible poseur hair band. Is the make up supposed to distract from the fact that they can't write a decent song?

U2- I just don't know what it is about them that makes so many people like them

Yes- I'm a prog head, but their music just annoys me. I think it's Jon Anderson's voice I can't stand, to be honest.

Nirvana-- "I think I'm dumb." You got that right.

I don't know. They just aren't for me. I can't take the screaming vocals and the fact that every album they ever made sounds exactly alike. They just never grew musically in my opinion, but if people dig their stuff, why should they. They are a band that I wouldn't go see if they were playing across the street from me and it was a free show. Only my opinion though. I realize many people like them.

Haha you've made them look quite good there. You must be a fan.

That's pretty good!! You should sell AC/DC your lyrics. :heheh:

I agree with some of that.

I never got the hype about Springsteen. Sure, I like a handful of his songs but he is too verbose for my taste. And I'm not a fan of his voice either. And his themes are way way too American and not very global/cosmopolitan.

Bob Dylan's voice as well, I never found very special.. though I do admire his songs and talent. It took me forever to develop a liking for his folky music. He is also too verbose in his lyrics. But I suppose a storyteller always is.

As for KISS, I only know that one song I think... Rock n Roll All Night or whatever. I cannot stand it, possibly due to a combination of radio overplay and my opinion that it is not a great song anyway in the first place!

U2: I cannot agree with you, sorry lol. They're my all-time fav band along with The Beatles and Floyd. All I'll say in defense of them is, they're MUCH more than just the hits you hear like Sunday Bloody Sunday or I Still Haven't Found or Beautiful Day or Vertigo. They've become a little crap after the year 2000 but their 80s and 90s output is first class!

Yes: I also never got this band. I don't like the vocals either.

About Yes: it is not just the voice but for me they are sounding way too happy, it gets annoying.
