The Official BYRDS Thread

Roger, (Jimmy), McGuinn is my current Avatar and I am a huge Byrds fan. Hell, they created a whole new genre and members of that band, (Gene Clark, Chris Hillman and Gram Parsons), were instrumental in starting the whole country rock genre as well. Jingle Jangle and soaring harmonies, these guys were the real deal. Discuss...

Hey, I didn't know The Byrds recorded a version of "From A Distance"! It was a new song for their boxset in 1990! Great version! :cheers2

Not meaning to go off base, but anyone ever here The Ramones cover of My Back Pages??

As a cover it would go back to Bob Dylan for credit, but they took more from the Byrds rendition, IMO. Very influential band The Byrds were.

I remember that version, I saw them live around 1990, very good, I had the box set and then sold it as I had all the remasters:) Great version:)

What a great version, the album Acid Eaters is a classic, I so miss them!!!
