I still have most of the LPs from when they were released. Later I got the CDs. I think my collection is complete...might be missing a couple. Great band. I love the sound of McGuinn's 12-string. When I was in high school, 67-70, our band did some Byrds, so I bought a made in Japan Kent 12-string. I sold it for $90 in '69. I saw one identical to it at Carter Vintage Guitars five or six years ago. $1500. I saw the Byrds in 1970 with Clarence White, Gene Parsons, McGuinn, and Skip Battin. Later, I got to see Chris Hillman when he was with Desert Rose Band, then again in his acoustic duo with Herb Pedersen. I managed to see David Crosby and his band a few years before he passed. I never got to see Gene Clark or Michael Clarke. Clarence was playing his Parsons White B-Bender Telecaster. I got to see it a few times again being played in concert by Marty Stuart. There's another great band.

From the last Byrds lp 1973.....I like Crosby's solo lp version a bit better.....
'Laughing'

Crosby said he wrote it for George Harrison after Harrison told him about his meeting with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi....Crosby told George to take what he had heard 'with a grain of salt'.

I saw the BYrds, Jefferson Airplane, and BB KIng in May 1970 at IU Bloomington IN....outdoor concert.
Of course Crosby was gone (McGuinn, Gene Parsons, White and Battin) , but it was the original Airplane and Grace was on fire.

I have Mr. Tambourine Man, Turn! Turn! Turn!, and 5th Dimension that I inherited from my Mother. Never tried to collect anymore.

Honestly, I have not listened to any of them in decades.

Younger Than Yesterday has an interesting sound....it has the most Crosby influence and even sounds a bit like CSN at times. Notorious Byrd Bros was done after he left and has more of a classic Byrds thing but with some psych and country folk also.....a unique one by them imho.

Mr. Tambourine Man LP was the first album I ever bought. I was in Wisconsin on vacation with my Dad and saw it in a store. Bought it with paper route or yard mowing money and kept it safe on the way home, so it didn't melt in the car. I still have it, but upgraded to CD.
