Re: Blue Oyster Cult

Secret Treaties is my all time favorite BOC album Cream'd, it's definitely a grower.

Fire of Unknown Origin is another really good record.

^^^Both of those are excellent albums, imo! :grinthumb

I'm not sure about which album would be the heaviest, but Agents of Fortune and Cultosaurus Erectus do have some heavy songs on them, too!

Re: Blue Oyster Cult

I'm some what surprised that so many people place Cultosaurus Erectus in high regards. I thought I was one of the few that place the album on the top of the BOC rankings. I think Mirrors wasn't that bad of a album.

Saw them in concert on the Fire of Unknown Origin tour and the band was excellent. One of the best shows I've seen. Haven't really followed the band since the release of The Revolution by Night.

1. Cultosaurus Erectus
2. Blue Oyster Cult
3. Tyranny and Mutation
4. Secret Treaties
5. Some Enchanted Evening

Re: Blue Oyster Cult

Good song Rocker440.

Been having a string of good luck the last while picking up some "Deluxe" versions of some great old recordings. Two of them are BOC classic albums, their self titled debut packaged together with Tyranny & Mutation on a single CD, and Agents of Fortune as well. Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs is always a good label to check out when they remaster an old album, some purists don't like them fiddling with the original too much, but with a couple of exceptions every record/CD I have ever bought from them is an improvement over the original version.

Re: Blue Oyster Cult

Sadly like many other great labels MFSL is out of business MP. The only options are finding a used copy on e-bay etc., or using Other alternatives...:D

Personally I have no problem with people finding an OOP album wherever they can and there are many generous people out there who like keeping the best versions of old classic albums alive by bands that have made their millions and don't need the money anyway.
