All the advice given so far is good, an art gallery and a reputable pawn shop would be a good starting point to establish a fair value.

Myself I wouldn't pay $70 for a sketch no matter who it was or who drew it, I would spend that money on a few CD's or DVD's.:D

^^I find plenty of good Aussie/Chilean cab's in the $12-$15 range Lynch. I will not buy French or Italian wines, they are overpriced.

But steak and a case of good beer and a bottle of wine sounds like a party to me.:hab:

Not that this is relevant but I think I may have $70 dollars to my name right now. You can bet that I shant be spending it on any drawings no matter how well done they are.

The lobby of the Ritz hotel.
It was just a rough estimate.

I once sold a promotional poster from like, 1983. Must have been like 18x26in. or less. Someone bought it for a starting price of like ... 27.99; locational shipping jacked it up to almost 50$. And it's virtually worthless and expendable because there's hundreds of them still in circulation.

i don't have a problem with anyone being honest , especially when i am trying to find accurate info but from what i can tell you were on the hunt to burst "someone's" bubble today and it looks like i got to be that guy

anyways , if this is the original and only sketch like this then someone who loves the doors enough will take it off my hands .... and by calling it poor quality is disrespectful to the original artist as it obviously took awhile for it to be completed , the only question is it a reprint - what you called a "resketchhh" , it very well could be but i have yet to find anything close online

thanks for the positive input my friend !

1. Had I been looking "to burst someone's bubble today", I would have done so yesterday when I first saw the picture. I just couldn't bite my tongue any longer.

2. Try the fourth picture of post eighteen of my Doors January Band of the Month thread for the photo that the fellow would have spent less than thirty minutes resketching. Had you been a Doors fan yourself, you would already have found the thread. Neither would a Doors fan be thinking in terms of "someone taking the picture off her hands" though.

3. The very fact that your pic does not appeal to as big a Doors fan as myself should tell you something though. Don't forget that the most reliable input doesn't have to be positive.

The thing is... regardless of ONE persons' opinion, anything is worth something to someone who wants it. Just because one person says it's worth $5 doesn't mean someone else won't pay $100 for it. Just have to find that 1 person.

In the speaker selling business such a person would be called a "duck". :D

That reminds me of the insanity of "Art Collectors", they are about the "Prestige" of owning a painting for example, they might not even like the work itself, it's all about outdoing their other rivals so when they get together at their parties they can brag about their latest acquisition.

A rare Picasso sold last week for over $100,000,000 US, I personally can't stand Picasso's paintings and wouldn't spend $20 on one of them, but some people like his stuff as evidenced by the insane amount of money they spend on his work.(No offense to Picasso's fans, I much prefer Rembrandt, Monet, Renoir, Dali, Van Goghe, Velasquez, :grinthumb)
