It is not uncommon to think that the title of "The Weight" was "Take A Load Off Granny/Fanny" I know more than a few people who thought so ....

"The Weight" was the well-known song by The Band, with the chorus that went "Take a load off Annie, take a load for free/Take a load off Annie and put the load right on me."

For anyone who didn't know (though that's kind of hard to imagine). ;)

Aretha has a very powerful voice, and she did a good job with this cover.

This isn't one of her best songs, though. That honor would have to go to the song "Respect" or "Chain of Fools" or "Spanish Harlem".

I should send you my Mom's vinyl collection Magic, she has tons of rare Aretha albums and all her best ones...they are just gathering dust in a trunk now.
