^You bring up good points, and if I were focusing on all that when purchasing from itunes, I would agree with you, but I eventually do end up buying hard copies, even if I download an album, or buy it off itunes. The main reason I buy off itunes is if I feel like buying it is a good use of my money. I tend to download when it's something I want a taste of. I sort of do the 'download to itunes to hard copy' thing. So everything I have on my itunes, I have in CD form. Is it a waste of money? Sure. Is it something I feel comfortable with? Most definitely.
I do see what you're getting at though, I just don't take the time to figure out all the quality stuff like that. If I can tell that it sounds great, that's all I can care about until I get a hard copy for myself.
