60s/70s Song...I Think It's A Ballad

I heard a song on YouTube months ago and thought I saved it but now I can't find it. Anyway, I think it was a hit in the 60s or 70s and I could've sworn it was sung by a guy named Christie...but I could be wrong about that.

The song is about a man who is all alone and the chorus I think repeats the lyrics about his loneliness. I believe it's a ballad/pop song.

There might of even been another person who covered this song as I think it was popular back then.

Any guesses?


EDIT: The song is sung almost like an opera singer would sing it. Very dramatically.
