Lol that is true.

Metallica is really overratred. Especially their album.

But now that I think about it, he was a pretty good frontman back in the 80s. Now hes just old lol

Yea he was a very good front man even in the early 90's. I think he may be on the list, but maybe should have been in torwards the end of it.

Death Magnetic was pretty good especially compared to St Anger.

I like all their albums except St Anger honestly.

Their are a good amount of people that I would expect to see on the list that probably will not be on it haha, but w.e

If Phil Anselmo is not on this list then this is one of the biggest p.o.s lists around just like the Rolling Stone guitarist list and drumming list.

I didn't even know who Phil Anselmo was by name. I had to Google him. But really his only snowball's chance of making this list was at the ass end.

The problem that I see here is that a lot of people are unwilling to admit that bands/artists that they hate can still be important.

I, for one, have never liked Elvis' music (he's got nothing on Chuck Berry or Buddy Holly), but I wouldn't deny how important that he was. Same goes for Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, and Kiss...I can't stand them, but I recognize their talent and influence. Well, maybe not Kiss...:flirt

There's an entire genre that wouldn't be what it is today without the Sex Pistols...And yes, punk rock definitely takes more from the Pistols than the Ramones or the Clash (both of whom I personally like better, even though I do love all 3).

This is the most important point I got out of this whole barrage of negative chatter! :heheh: It sums things up very well! :grinthumb Like I always say the main thing that's garbage about these list is their is no personal anecdotes or reasoning behind them! Their are just a bunch of names thrown in a sequence with a bunch of people wanting their taste validated. You could take these same names, because they usually are the same names thrown around all the time , put them in a blender, shuffle 'em around and have some other asshole journalist or critics list and then everyone will still be all over the list! :oyea: Make your own list guys, stick to it and screw what anyone else thinks about it. If you are more concerned with the historical influence or "importance" of your artist than how enjoyable their work is to you then that is sadder to me than any pathetic list by some asshole I've never even met! :D

very very very true, but I think most people are as well haha.

People aren't that bad! They just love conflict more than they know, including you and I, and these stupid list are perfect catalysts for those! :heheh: We get suckered into these things without even realizing it! :heheh:

Back on topic though or I'll have to move this portion of the thread into the human Psychology and Sociology section we'll have to create! :grinthumb
