I am beyond ecstatic that this “Big Spliff” material is finally seeing the light of day. I know that Rick Wright was working on material for a solo album before he passed-on, and had thought that if there was some material recorded (demo or otherwise) that Gilmour could have finished it for him. But something like this is far more than I expected.
Even though Gilmour and Waters seems to have (somewhat) patch up their relationship, I wonder if Waters would have accepted an invitation to work-on/finish this material - I.E. play some new bass parts, some lyrical writing and vocals........etc - Since he wasn’t part of the initial writing and recordings in 1993-94. Though it would be great if Waters is (quietly) somehow involved (even limited) – Would make for a great final PF album with all four involved.
I wonder (a little) if the quick statements of “Waters is not involved” and “There will be no tour” are early purposeful misdirection.
Though in reality, this could just be a final "Cleaning Out The Cupboards" of the last unreleased Pink Floyd material sitting in the vaults.
