Been playing the Beatles a lot lately. Maybe because my dad was such a big fan......

Anyway, always has been very difficult to name my fav Beatles album. They all have brilliant songs on them and all have weaker songs. It's a toss up between Abbey Road, Revolver and Rubber Soul. Don't think Sgt.Pepper is such a good album.

Despite what a lot of people seem to think,"Pepper" does NOT always come in at NO 1 on greatest albums lists and some have even called it over rated.Back in '67,some critics didn't even consider it the best album of that year. Some chose the debuts by the Doors,Hendrix and Velvet Underground.I remember a VH1 survey where "Revolver" was chosen as greatest ever with "Pepper" at 3 and of course "Rubber Soul" and "Abbey Road" along with the "White Album" finished in highly respectable positions...................

I'm one of those people who's SUCH a Beatlefreak,I actaully don't have one.To me,the first two records(Please Please Me,With The Beatles)generally have the same feel. But from Hard Day's Night or at least Help, the writing started getting more and more sophisticated and each album after that created its own unique listening atmosphere. There's the folksie "Rubber Soul",the more adventurous "Revolver" followed by the absolutely groundbreaking "Sgt Pepper".There are many textures on the "White Album".This one was quite a creative burst.Side one of "Abbey Road" is really great, but of course what really made this one was the nearly side long medley suite.I also very much enjoy the more "back to roots" parts of "Let It Be".The Fabs did so many different things on so many different levels, comparing them is an apples and oranges thing really. All this haveing been said,"Pepper" probably will always stand in most people's minds are their greatest achievement, but then the other albums possess other different qualities that even "Pepper" does not.The whole "what's your favorite Beatles album question is always a fascinating one,but I personally can't narrow things down to any one recording.............

Yea it's very difficult to name one fav album. For me I think it's a toss up between Abbey Road, Revolver and the White Album.

Despite having some filler, the White Album is just incredible from start to finish! It is a whole, almost cinematic experience not unlike listening to The Wall, though I'm not suggesting that the albums are similar or anything. But The White Album is just so... all-encompassing. So many different styles on just 2 discs! I love Revolution 9 so much!!
