I can't vote for the Best because I don't have/haven't seen all of them.. I do have a couple of noteworthy releases.. These were filmed long ago but released in 2013. There are others but do not recall at the moment (I am at work)

The Eagles was a good watch and very interesting but is a documentary

Found this site that lists all (many) new DVD/Blu Ray releases. They have a section for audio as well

I would agree about the Eagles documentary film, best of the year and really excellent stuff, and I'm so glad I got to see them on this (final? ) tour they are doing.

Though for me only Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmidt emerged from the film as likeable people, sweet guys with no signs of ego, whereas both Glenn Frey and Don Henley seem to have a sort of control-freakability about them that I actually found quite shocking.

Best concert DVD for me (that I have at least) is the Rush 'Clockwork Angels' tour.

The Def Leppard one is excellent, no doubt about it, but I have a few others I found more enjoyable this year....

Blu-rays:
Joe Bonamassa – Tour de Force (all 4 of them)
Lady Antebellum – On This Winter's Night
Ted Nugent – Ultralive Ballisticrock
Rolling Stones – Sweet Summer Sun - Hyde Park Live

DVD'S
Stacie Collins - Shinin' Live!
Royal Southern Brotherhood - Songs from the Road
Joanne Shaw Taylor - Songs from the Road

Some candidates I haven't seen/heard yet: Black Sabbath, Dream Theater, Epica, Eagles and Scorpions.

I'll echo the Eagles DVD, I watched both parts as the story of the band unfolded along with the tour they were doing.(Are they still on tour or have they finished?)

I can't fault Frey and Henley for being tyrannical at times, they have been through the school of hard knocks especially being betrayed(taken advantage of) by David Geffen early on. What I found mind boggling was that after the Eagles got shafted by Geffen, Don Henley signed with him again during his solo career, then another messy lawsuit unfolded as he found out Geffen hadn't changed one bit from the days of the Eagles on his label.

I don't really dig too deep into bands generally, I sort of want to have the 'illusion' of just the musical magic they left behind, finding out all their flaws takes the luster off for me usually.

Happy ending though, band was more popular than ever selling out all over the world and their music still holds up.
