Nothing wrong with compilations PF, it's a good gateway to many bands. Plus you have a huge amount of old classics in your collection, so that automatically qualifies you as a discerning music fan.:D

Huh, I actually never looked at it that way :p But getting Greatest Hits albums is a good way to get into a band. Listen to their hits, and then expand from there!

^^When CD's were first released almost all the first generation were Compilations of successful bands from the 60's, 70's and 80's. It wasn't until much later that the discographies became available and since then they have released numerous Upgraded Remastered versions, so for those of us buying the new media, we sometimes had no choice but to buy the Greatest Hits and hope they eventually released all our favorite albums. They still have not completed the job, that is another reason the new USB turntables are popular, people can upload their old vinyl albums into MP3's etc., and enjoy them on their i-pods.

I'd say we should hold an intervention, but hey, this is an addiction I think we can all support :lmao:

Or even encourage....

:D

So far today I've added shows by Led Zeppelin, Simon & Garfunkel, and The Who (full Tommy set.) I'll likely select a dozen or so more later. There's roughly 300GB of music on this computer alone. That equals close to a half year of constant music. :mn: That does not include records, tapes, and CD's.

More is always better.
