Another old favorite of mine. I saw The Who in New Haven, CT back in the late 1970's. A bunch of us drove down there in a van, stoned out of our minds. I remember it was around Christmas because we were wandering around a mall in a complete marijuana haze before the concert and I remember all the Christmas decorations and so forth. We had terrible seats in back of the stage, but I remember the music....sort of :)

Yeah the OOOOoooooo!!! were special without a doubt my favourite albums are WHO'S NEXT & QUADROPHENIA and i like the track Who are you.

A couple of the albums from the Townsend/Daltry/Entwhistle/Moon era have some 'filler tracks' on them but all in all there's tons of classic rock tracks on there albums as well.

Several obscure personal favourites are The Seeker, Water & Naked Eye.

From a strict standpoint of pure musicianship and what band members could contribute to the overall sound, some may even call the Who the best ever,up there with Led Zeppelin and,of course, the Stones. When Rolling Stone did a survey of the best singers ever,Roger Daltrey actually placed one notch AHEAD of Mick Jagger!

Peter Townsend's solo album ALL THE BEST COWBOY'S HAVE CHINESE EYES from 1982 has some good songs on it, legend has it that Pete was holding over his better songs around this period for this solo album rather then giving them over to The Who?.

The Who I guess could have used them, but if he didn't then the solo albums may have not been as great! I love that album/CD btw E-Z!! :grinthumb

I would rather hear Roger Daltry than Mick Jagger :grinthumb

Mick Jagger has never been ranked very higly by me as a "good" vocalist. He is a good frontman with lots of energy, though.

I agree. I like Mick Jagger just fine and have a lot of Stones at home. But sometimes Mick can irritate me to no end if I'm in the wrong mood. :oyea:

Shattered comes to mind. I get all ARRRR-GGG but enjoy it at the same time.

:heheh:

Yeah right on METALPRIEST my main dude.

Phil Lynott did a simular thing holding over his 'better songs' for his solo albums (Solo in Soho & The Phil Lynott album) but i guess a lot of top line artist's do the samething?.

Rock on Tommy!.
