Hey I had an open mind enough to give it a go. Even though I disliked it, I still like to think I was open minded enough to give it a chance lol
Had several people on youtube call me narrow minded, ridiculous when I like several albums of bands who get a lot of roasting.

:heheh:

Stay away from youtube if you want any debate higher than the quality of orangutans throwing their own balls of shit at each other!

lol true but nothing grinds my gears more then people accusing me of being close minded. ( not accusing anyone here of that, everyone is respectful of each others opinions here)

To you or whoever else liked the songs, more power to you. Had way more patience then I did.

Oh but it's so funny when they're wrong. They just look so silly. :heheh: Like there was this one member from back in the day that was convinced I was a closed minded conservative. It literally made me fan out of my chair laughing. :heheh:

I still haven't listened to "Lulu" yet so I can't honestly make an educated opinion on it. I've been to busy with a dozen other albums that I've gotten lately.

To me being close minded isn't about liking or disliking something, it is when one has no attempt or does not understand the concept of change or musical experimentation, not being willing to try something just because it is different. Fanboys of a band love to throw close minded curveballs at any hater of a particular song or album. That itself is close minded, not being accepting of anything in the way of a different opinion.

I am actually glad Metallica did change their sound, even if I like some and not others I think it gives their classic 80s era a bit more prestige so to speak.

I have no doubt that they will make a CD soon that everyone will dig again.

I'm sure there will be some disappointments if Metallica releases a record that sounds like Death Magnetic. I'll still be pretty excited if it sounds like DM did. I liked that album. Not sure why it gets a lot of hate. People say it sounds like Metallica commercialized in that album, I just think they took advantage to up to date technology. It doesn't sound that bad.

Ironic I saw a Megadeth pun in that.

I thought the album dragged on a bit in some songs, The Day That Never Comes and Unforgiven III are extremely forgettable, the 2 worst ballads Metallica have done for mine. I also didn't think much of Suicide and Redemption, again an extremely long and repetitive instrumental. Then theres the loudness war, Magnetics mastering was way off. Otherwise a solid album.
