You hit one of my favorite genres! :heheh: Most of my 2,000's list is filled with great folk styled artist like Damien Rice, Ryan Adams, David Ford, Foreverinmotion, etc. Sunny might have exposed you to some of them! :heheh:

:heheh: Sunny and I agree to disagree about a lot things  but we go to concerts and gigs together quite a bit and always have a good time so we must agree on some music that suits both of us.

Oh that reminds me ...................... she was going on about a singer who is coming to our favourite venue in the not to distant future and she said we should fly Sooty over to see him .................. but I can't remember his name :wtf: I'll have to ask her.

I agree about Jam bands.

90% of jam bands suck. Boring.

Like Phish or who ever.

5)METAL- Don't get me wrong, I love Sabbaths and Deep Purple, but that's where my connection with metal ends.

Grateful Dead, Phish, Moe., Widespread Panic, etc.

These other bands, sound nothing like the Grateful Dead.

Not even in the same league.

Phish is horrible.

If it's Damien I'd be there in a heartbeat! :heheh: Hell, if it's anyone on the list I'd still be down for it! :heheh:

I just rang Sunny (she had just finished work and was nearly off to the land of nod) and she said City & Colour. Due to popular demand the venue has been changed to a much bigger one. Here is the link to the place we go to most. I think he was booked there for April.

So far I have to say (for right now) is opera for starters... the loud screeching in another language is certainly bad enough.. I listen to NPR during the day, when Im not jamming or other stuff.. classical is good just floating in the background... I might be lucky to hear, Copland.. Mussorgsky.. or Prokofiev...(if any of you know any Emerson Lake, and Palmer), but the second it hits with the opera... there goes the station........... BOOM.

The other, which I dont care whos style it is... and its the one thing that Ill never EVER subscibe to and thats HYPE. Britney, justin (needs to die), Beyoncé and her little dog (the hell is his name again) oh yeah.. Kanye West (what a knob/tool.... whatever). btw, does any knows what that symbol that Kanys west displays really means..??? Look at a dollar bill real close.. out of curiosity I wonder just what hes really promoting.

The last, (so far) is any female singers from the 1920s and 1930s movies... the vibrato is extremely annoying to no ends... "Damn lady cant you stop singing, that causes your adams apple to wave like that... thats discussing."

Ill add as this thread continues........... more to come.

Same here.

My experience came through college GM (not my personal circle of friends but the surroundings) where everyone thought Classic Rock artist were cool because it was music to get stoned too and supposedly that was reason enough to try and be a modern hippy. Everybody had that Bob Marley poster with the doobie in their mouth and the psychedelia Doors posters. Amazingly I could still enjoy that music but Dave Matthews Band were Gods on campus and EVERY band we got to play at the college were some annoying hippy jam band that sucked. I couldn't stand all the unwashed, dreadlock toting burnouts we had playing their bongos on the grass! It really soured me on the whole thing. I still don't like the whole Jam band thing but I can at least say I still listened to and bought Classic Rock afterward but for the right reasons! :)
