Why Is European Metal Better Than American?

    Or maybe colder=fewer people, so the ratio goes up :D

    Yep. It all depends really on the sub-genre. Europe is way better for black metal, power metal, progressive metal, symphonic metal even for the most part. US for the thrash, death metal scenes but even with those I think Europe have their great share of bands also.

    Brits and Americans ruled in the 80's metal.
    In the 90's and 2000's Scandinavia ruled, all the way.
