Sorry. I guess my typing needs work.

So then you're saying the snake is there to shock and not schlock or glam?

From Wikipedia:

under SHOCK ROCKERS :With a career spanning the mid-1960s to recent years, American band leader Alice Cooper refined shock rock, with expensive, upscale illusionary, graphic stunts, such as feigning decapitation with the use of elaborate special effects. [1] In the early 1970s, Cooper's unique blend of heavy metal and folk-blues, complete with sardonic and inevitably controversial lyrics, proved a powerful inspiration

Glam fashion was and is too friggin' weird for me. It was more about the music for me.

I got into Alice Cooper for the music. When I was younger, I just thought Alice Cooper was a great rock band. I think 75% of glam was all about the look and fashion, that's why I think glam was just fluff.

Mott The Hoople's best stuff was before they went ''glam'' - Mott the Hoople (1969), Mad Shadows (1970), Wildlife (1971), Brain Capers (1971) - when the were a rockin rhythm and blues band, but that another thread.

T Rex and Sweet was the cream of the crop....but then again, T Rex was around before glam too. Glam was just a bandwagon some bands jumped on for 2 or 3 years....Even Bowie jumped off pretty fast...but, again....that's another thread.

Yeah, Alice Cooper rocked.

Thanks CH...I plan on stopping there soon. So many threads of great bands I haven't got a chance to visit. I haven't even visted the KISS thread yet - and I'm one of the biggest 70's Kiss fans around. But, yeah - Mott's on one of my stops soon.

I Gotta Get Me The Motts!...

:heheh:

KISS is awesome....:grinthumb

And Mott :grinthumb
