The Long and Winding Road by The Beatles. Paul McCartney lost his mother when he was a child, so his songs tend to be sentimental (Yesterday).

Scullery by Clifford T. Ward. The lyrics are very positive, but the music is melancholy. He was described as bitter-sweet.
