No decade is the worst. You cannot blanket a whole decade as bad! If you really twisted my arm and demanded an answer, I would say 2000s but even during the 00s there were several songs and a handful of new bands that I discovered/enjoyed listening to. Even the 70s which seems to be the holy grail to most people here had its share of trash.

Yeah every decade has good and bad stuff whether the elitists want to admit it or not. I voted 50s in terms of least favourite decade. I don't necessarily think its shit.

Absolutely you can label an entire decade as "the worst"

Simply look at what you like the most from each decade. Whether it be the most artists, the most songs, the most albums, etc.

Put them on a list. The decade that you liked the least number of artists, albums, song would clearly be "the worst" to you.

You're thinking of "least favourite", not "worst".

in this context, those are one in the same. It's a matter of opinion. Least favorite is an opinion, worst is an opinion, thus they have the same basic meaning.


worst food you've ever eaten = least favorite food you've ever eaten

worst movie you've ever seen = least favorite movie you've ever seen.

worst genre of music = least favorite genre of music

worst decade in music= least favorite decade in music.

No, those are not one and the same. "Worst" implies that there was nothing or hardly anything redeeming from the particular decade. "Least favourite" implies that though there were things that one may have liked, it is still the least favourite. "Least favourite" is kinder I guess.
