Tony Iommi and the Gibson SG, he's flavoured the world of Heavy Metal with some of the best, darkest riffs ever.

I have a question for our specialists in here.

It seems that nearly everyone uses a Fender or Gibson, are there any English/European guitars that famous rock stars use?

Vox were founded in Kent LG, the AC 30 amp was a good seller but the guitars were not so hot. Brian Jones played the white Vox teardrop.

^^Not sure I've ever heard of Vox before now Sox, it is strange the way things worked out as far as instruments go.

I am no expert in this field but I'll follow along and maybe learn a thing or two.

One thing I do know, is the quintessential "British Sound" was due to their extensive use of Celestion stacks, compared to Marshall that many American bands used and there was a big difference between the two.

A Brit Jim Marshall started the Marshall company and Eric Clapton really put them on the map along with the then not so popular Gibson Les Paul. The Americans gave us the great early guitars and the Brits helped with the amplification I reckon.
