They look alright 2LT...but I always want a complete spec sheet with every piece of gear I buy. As far as power goes it's not critical after all Cerwin Vega's speakers in the 70's - 80's would knock the walls down with a 10-20 watt/channel amplifier they were legendary for their efficiency.

Speakers are the most defining part of any system you buy, I've always bought them first when assembling any of my systems over the years. The associated electronics can make a difference not saying they don't but you have to like the sound of your speakers, that's why there are so many different models/designs to choose from.

I don't need anymore speakers myself, I've been selling off old gear the last month, so far I've gotten rid of 4 pairs of speakers, 3 receivers and one boombox.

...

So true... and for me what works great for Video Entertainment is lttle good for Audio Music.

Right now I'm smitten a pair of Axiom Audio M80's. They are pricy but I really like what i see in the design and specs. They are Canadian and they still manufacturer everything on the spot.

^^My sister has an Axiom 5.1 system, based around the M-50's which for her room size were more than ample.

I considered a pair of M-80's last year, but they were a little too big for my needs. You do have a 30 day worry free window to listen to them, decide if you like them and if not send them back and Axiom will pay the shipping costs so it's really no risk to you dealing with an online manufacturer.

Was cleaning up my old Mirage subwoofer, plugged it in and it's making so much noise it's officially retired, not bad after 15+ years service. I tried to find a plate amp to replace the original, but this model is so old they are obsolete so I've given up.

Anyway earlier this week I was in the city and stopped by my favorite Hi-Fi shop, and asked about the REL's. Been reading up on them and they are really interesting, have a different approach to sub-woofers than most companies. So to make a long story short I bought a T-Zero, the smallest one they make. It's for my PC room and I wanted a compact design without sacrificing quality. To say I'm impressed so far would be an understatement. This little beauty is amazing, flexible and the quality shines though musically and aesthetically as well.

Here's the link to their homepage.

Home & Home Theatre Subwoofer. T-ZERO World Wide | REL Acoustics

I'll post a picture soon, with something to show the scale.:D

What model Mirage sub, I bought the 150 years ago and it is just now showing its age. It has developed a little plopping sound on some of the lower midrange bass. Doesn't happen all the time, but it's telling me to start looking. But like you said I got my bucks worth.

It's a PS-10 Taha, I found one in Quebec for $100 that's in good working condition, but after shipping and the fact it's also 15 years old I just felt it wasn't worth it. Another reason I retired the Mirage, for some reason they used foam instead of butyl rubber for the woofer...:wtf: I'll never understand that for a quality company like Mirage they should have always used rubber. The first thing to fail on any driver should be the voice coil, not the physical connecting piece holding the driver in place.

I love my SVS subwoofer for movies, and the cost is very reasonable because they are an online company, but I wanted a tiny inconspicuous sub for my small PC room and the T-Zero is perfect.
