I thought about stereo subs, but I only use mine for movies on the surround system and this one not only fills the room but the neighbours walls vibrate when I'm playing a movie too..

There are quite a few good names out there, after looking around and finding a Canadian distributor in Ontario, I ordered an SVS, made with pride in Ohio U.S.A. To buy one at a retail shop with similar specs would cost twice as much and you can trade up for a year if you want to. This one is more than I need, the room isn't large enough to warrant anything bigger. It took 2 strapping Fed Ex guys to deliver it to my front door, but I carried it downstairs by myself.

It's A Smal World...

Just found out that this really nice young man I work with used to work for Martin Logan in Lawrence, Kansas. He has an all ML speaker system that he snagged prior to leaving for an eight of the MSRP. Although he doesn't have the requisite gear yet to power them he mentioned that he has these thick gauge speaker wire that he got from ML which he tells me has the circumference of a quarter.

^^Martin Logan is one company that is still making good quality...not sure if they manufacture in China but I hope not.

Paradigm is moving their factories back to Canada from China, guess they've learned their lesson and as wages continue to rise as the "slaves" demand decent standards of living more and more companies should be following suit.

Can't happen soon enough for me.

There and back...

That is interesting news about Paradigm Bruce. Good for them. For some reason there is bias against overseas made products and not because of the quality either methinks. I guess it brings about more comfort knowing it's built within North American shores. It puts locals to work too.

The young man who worked for ML said his speakers were listed as B-Stock when he purchased them. He did mention that they looked pretty much new. He left because he felt it was a dead end job and surprisingly he said that that some co-workers were using the facility as a meth labs. Wow. Apparently, the factory was in a not so nice part of town.

^^Funny you posted that Snoopy...I sold a couple pairs of speakers last week to a KEF fanatic. She's trying to collect the entire "C" series and the C-10's I had for sale are the last ones she needed.

Anyway she showed me pictures of her home setup and I was very impressed. Very rare to come across a woman who's an audiophile but she's assembled a vintage set of gear that is stunning.

She might be back when I put more of my old stuff up for sale, I started last week and so far everything has sold within a couple days.
