Chris cutler and Fred frith of Henry cow used all sorts of crazy stuff. Chris played a drum set made of pots and pans and used a sterno to boil water. He played the spoons too. Fred frith would use anything to play his guitar ashtray, bottles, lighter to name a few

I wonder if anyone's played the spoons in a recording? :heheh:

Soundgarden has a song called Spoonman which features Artis The Spoonman a street performer from California playing a spoon solo on the track. He appears in the music video as well.

Pet Sounds was created several months after Brian Wilson had quit touring with the band in order to focus his attention on writing and recording. In it, he wove elaborate layers of vocal harmonies, coupled with sound effects and unconventional instruments such as bicycle bells, buzzing organs, harpsichords, flutes, Electro-Theremin, dog whistles, trains, Hawaiian-sounding string instruments, Coca-Cola cans and barking dogs, along with the more usual keyboards and guitars.[1][2][3]
