I was just curious about the opinions of some on the forum. When I was younger, I seem to remember many more songs from Three Dog Night being played on the radio compared to Bachman Turner Overdrive, yet BTO seems to get more chatter around the nostalgic corridors of Internet. These days, BTO is certainly rotating on "classic rock radio" much more often and heard in commercials.

I would easily pick 'The Band' . True songwriters and an interesting sound straddling both American and Canadian folk rock /country styles. They also backed up Dylan at times in studio and live....and imho 'The Weight' which they wrote and played is a classic .
Randy Bachman was a good guitarist but his songwriting for BTO seemed a bit silly at times.
And Three Dog Night were a pop group who covered other peoples songs...though they did that well.
