    Hi all,

I am looking for specific rock songs with an upbeat feel and a consistent, driving rhythm section in the vein of classic rock to 80's glam metal. Songs that are similar to what I am seeking include Fire Woman - The Cult, Inferno - H.E.A.T, Light This City - Faithfull, Danger (Let's Get Away) - Danger, and Round and Round - Ratt.

What other rock songs can you recommend for me that sound similar to these? Thanks so much!

I've never understood what a "driving rhythm section" meant.

A driving rhythm generallycan be heard in a songs' chorus, which includes the kick drum consistently on beats 1 and 3, and usually eighth note power chords for the rhythm guitar in an overall allegro tempo.

Check these examples out (start points have been specified) :

This song should be right up your street. When I hear this song it sends back memories of me running along the banks of the Thames in the evening with the wolf howling at the moon and the sultry siren dancing against the embers of the crackiling fire....

This one used to fill the dance floor at my junior-high dances, in the mid-80's.

Just a smidge under 8 minutes long, with that driving rhythm pounding along, you never want it to end!

The video says this is the "extended" version, but it is also the album version. The single was edited down to about 4:45

    "Twilight Zone" Golden Earring (1982)
